Mr. Skutley has 15 years of experience in R&D and product development and deployment in the energy, clean tech., and aerospace industries. Since joining Clean Energy Systems in 2009, he has served in several roles including Process Engineer, Project Engineer, Test Engineer, and Project Manager. As a process engineer, Mr. Skutley focused on process design, engineering, and integration of CES oxy-combustion systems and sub systems to support zero-emission power and heat production. He quickly moved into test and project engineering roles, supporting the development of first of a kind oxy-combustion systems, oxy-turbines, reheat combustors, modified gas turbines, heat exchange technologies, carbon capture systems, fuel gas and CO2 pressurization and cooling systems. He has played key roles in major projects including the Mendota Biomass Carbon Removal and Storage project, as well technology development programs with industry leaders like Siemens and Maersk Oil & Gas.
In his current role as Director of Engineering, Mr. Skutley oversees and leads the engineering and design teams focused on deployment of CES technologies. His expertise in high-pressure, high-temperature systems has been instrumental in advancing Clean Energy Systems’ pursuits to support a clean energy transition and decarbonization of the North American industrial and transportation sectors.
Mr. Skutley holds a Bachelor of Science, Aerospace Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
